Business Insider: GOP senator cites 'civilization-warping crisis of public trust,' demands Trump explain Obama wiretapping claims

“I’m against the people that make up stories and make up sources. They shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody’s name,” President Donald Trump said. “Let their name be put out there. Let their name be put out. A source says that Donald Trump is a horrible, horrible human being. Let them say it to my face. Let there be no more sources.”

The same no anonymous sources should apply to Trump. If he is going to make accusations, he should be prepared to back them up. He should have a name or list of names of his source(s) and be able to provide evidence. As Republican Senator Ben Sasse said, we must have “A quest for the full truth.”And, "what sort of wiretap it was and how he knows this."

Robert Reich:

Kudos to Nebraska Republican senator Ben Sasse, who has called for Trump to provide sources of information for his outrageous claim. “We are in the midst of a civilization-warping crisis of public trust, and the president’s allegations … demand the thorough and dispassionate attention of serious patriots,” Sasse said in a statement. “A quest for the full truth, rather than knee-jerk partisanship, must be our guide if we are going to rebuild civic trust and health.”

What other courageous Republicans will stand up and call out Trump on what he’s doing to our nation?
