From Dan Rather's News and Guts, and the Chicago Tribune:
While many people
were left frustrated by President Trump's "news" conference, the late
night comedians realized they were handed a gift. We know Trump likes ratings
and let's face it he is good for late night viewership. His presidency has been
especially been good for Stephen Colbert who, for the first time, is #1 in late
night.
What is interesting is it's not all fun and games on these shows, these hosts
are delivering critical critiques of Trump. It's only a matter of time before
Trump declares Stephen Colbert, Seth Myers, Jimmy Kimmel and Trevor Noah lowly
reporters.
Here's some of the reaction from last night's shows.
Stephen Colbert: "Trump defended his rough start by immediately attacking
America's true enemy: Anyone but him."
Seth Myers: "It's racist to assume all black people know each other, you
don't know all orange people. Hey Donald, can you set up a meeting with Snookie
and the Lorax?"
Jimmy Kimmel: “The tone of the press conference was like if your dad found a
pack of cigarettes under your mattress. He was really mad. He talked for an
hour and 17 minutes, which is more than he had spoken to Melania all this
year.”
Trevor Noah: "We had a really nice show planned for you, then in the
middle of the day, Hurricane Trump happened."
