NPR -- Former FBI Director Mueller Appointed As Special Counsel To Oversee Russia Probe

Some good news for a change, the investigation into President Trump’s doings with the Russian Government has been turned over to Robert Mueller. Mueller, former FBI Director under Presidents Goerge W. Bush and Barack Obama and greatly respected for his honesty and fairness by both Democrats and Republicans, has been named Special Counsel to investigate the affairs Donald Trump has and has had with the Russians.

It’s bad news for Donald J. Trump if the allegations are true.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders writes "Robert Mueller’s appointment as special counsel to oversee the Russia investigation is a positive step. I am hopeful that he will help us get to the bottom of the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, including any role the president may have played.

To ensure the American people have full confidence in this investigation, it must be conducted in an open and transparent manner and be given the full resources it needs. Additionally, the ongoing investigations by both the Senate and House must continue."
