IG Resource -- Trump Continues His Attack on Immigrants—What You can do to Defend DACA

Robert Reich summarizes IG Resources suggestions:

Repealing DACA will go down as one of Trump's cruelest acts as president. Hundreds of thousands of young people are at risk for deportation, but the order doesn't go into effect until March of next year. The next six months are going to be critical. We need to keep up the pressure on Congress to pass a legislative fix. Indivisible Guide has put together a list of ways you can help. Urge your members of Congress to:

1) Denounce Trump's cruelty and support the DREAM Act (S.1615 / H.R.3440). The bill would grant DACA recipients legal permanent residence and a pathway to citizenship.

2) Oppose increased funding for deportations. The White House budget proposal includes an additional $23 billion for detention centers, ICE officers, and, of course, Trump's wall.

3) Reject legislation that would penalize sanctuary cities (H.R. 3003). The bill would force local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration officials, striking fear into immigrants and making communities less safe.

There are more resources, including additional background and information on events in your area, at the link below. If we speak out, we can protect these kids from Trump's cruelty. Just look at what happened when the American people spoke out against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Republicans control Congress and the White House, but "We The People" still have the power. We can't give up now. It is up to us to stop this.
